PLATTSBURGH — Lois M. McShane, 67, of Arnold Road, Plattsburgh, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Sept. 22, 1946, the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Gilbert) McShane.
Lois received her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University in 1974. She worked for several years as an attorney and was a former Assistant District Attorney in Clinton County. Lois was also licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court. She retired from the Clinton County Board of Elections as the Deputy Commissioner in June of 2013. Lois had a great love of animals and would do anything she could to be sure they had a loving home.
Survivors include her four children, Meaghan (Webb) Freeman and her husband Melvin of Willsboro, N.Y., Scarlett Webb and her companion John Rich of Rochester, N.Y., Thomas Webb III and his wife Bethany (Cannarella) of South Royalton, Vt., and Edward Webb and his wife Alison (Rendinaro) of Dover, N.H.; one brother, Edward A. McShane III and his wife Susan of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Paris Bercume, Molly Freeman, and Callaghan Freeman; and one nephew, Isaac McShane.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 12,at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Chazy and will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
