---- — CADYVILLE — Mr. Francis O. Davis, 90, of Davis Road in Cadyville, died Wednesday, March 27 at his home, with family by his side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country.

He was born in Dannemora, N.Y. on Aug. 21, 1922, the son of the late Frank and Ellen (Hackett) Davis.

Francis served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He later was employed as a Corrections Officer at Clinton Correctional Facility for over 25 years. He was also a farmer all of his life.

He is survived by a daughter, Ellen Bowman of Cadyville; a son, William Davis and companion Susan King of Cadyville; his grandchildren, Bobbie-Jo Staley and companion Rick Farrell of Cadyville, a grandson Shawn Gushlaw, Hollie Davis of Cadyville, Kyle Bowman and companion Kelly Dame of Cadyville; his great-grandchildren, Keenan Clancy, Alison Davis, Paiden Staley, Mackenzie Perkins, Aleese Gushlaw, Kenley Staley, Kaleb Staley, Korben Bowman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His wife, Alice (Liberty) Davis; a daughter Nancy Mashtare; a daughter-in-law, Linda Davis; and four siblings passed away earlier.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Independence Cemetery in Saranac at a later date to be announced. The family wishes to thank Dr. Malseptic and Katie LePage from Hospice of the North Country for the excellent care given to Francis.
