MOOERS FORKS — Grace T. Barnaby, 85, formerly of Mooers Forks, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Medina Memorial Hospital in Medina, N.Y.
She was born in Plattsburgh, Aug. 26, 1927, the daughter of Lawrence and Evelyn (Hawksby) Sweet. She graduated from Mooers High School and later attended beautician school.
Grace grew up, and lived for many years in Mooers Forks. She worked at Ayerst McKenna for nine years prior to moving to Rochester, N.Y. 45 years ago. She spent the previous 25 years as a resident of Middleport, N.Y., where she owned and operated a vegetable stand and was a loving homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, and holiday baking.
Survivors include her son, Larry Barnaby and his wife Linda; and daughter, Pamela Satkowski and her husband, Arthur; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by husband, Clarence Barnaby; and son, Gary Barnaby.
Relatives and friends may call from 11:30 to 12:40 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks with Rev. Gerald A. Cerank, parish Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Mooers Forks.
