John T. "Jack" Bryant

SARANAC — Mr. John T. "Jack" Bryant, 64, of Station Road in Saranac, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with family by his side. He was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on July 15, 1948, the son of the late John and Ila (Shultes) Bryant-Campbell.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Seabees. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Jack of all trades. He was a member of American Legion Post 1618 in Redford. He was the original American Picker.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gretchen ( Kauf) Bryant, his children and their spouses, John T. Bryant Jr. and his fianc^e Angela of Greeneville, Tenn., Robert Bryant of Plattsburgh, Renee Bryant and fiance Peter Dumont of Chateaugay, Justin Bryant and Rachel Plumley of Dannemora; his siblings and their spouses, Russell Bryant of Saranac, Barry and Pat Bryant of Saranac, Janice and Lloyd Carter Jr. of Saranac, Kathy Ormsbee of Greeneville, Tenn., Cynthia Waldron and companion Bob Chisholm of Saranac, Thomas Campbell and companion Renee Conger of Malone, Timothy and Debbie Campbell of Mooers, Katie Bryant-McDonald and her husband Bill of Arnprior, Ontario, Lorraine Bryant Lascelle of Arnprior, Ontario; his grandchildren, Steven and Cody Bryant, and Jaedyn Yelle; several nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Beverly Bryant, a brother Claude Bryant, and his parents passed away earlier.

In accordance with Jacks wishes, there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, at the Church of the Assumption in Redford. A reception will follow at American Legion Post 1618 on Wilson Road in Redford.

Memorial donations may be offered to the Saranac Rescue Squad.
