MOOERS — Henry Tyrell, 83 of Mooers, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, with his family by his side.
He was born March 8, 1930, in Mooers, N.Y. He was predeceased by his parents, Glen and Cassie Mae Tyrell; brother Roger; and sister Shirley.
Henry graduated from Mooers Central High School in 1949. His first job was with Alco as a millworker in Massena. Then he joined the Carpenter Union Local 1042 and worked for Murnane Associates as a carpenter and foreman in the construction trade for over 50 years.
Henry is survived by his spouse of 58 years, Phyllis Dupee Tyrell; his six children, David Tyrell of Mooers, Susan Clarke of Middletown, R.I., Kathy Merrill and her husband Mike of Millsboro, Del., Steven Tyrell and his wife Sharon of Saranac Lake, N.Y., Mary Quin and her husband Doug of Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Daniel Tyrell of Shelburn Falls, Mass. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, David, Jon, Kurt, Robin, Kirstyn, Kelly, Zachary, Brianna, Emma; and his great grandchildren, Cayden, Sean, Shannon F., Cailin, Amber and Shannon J. Henry is also survived by his sister-in-law, Grace Tyrell.
Henry enjoyed playing horseshoes, cards and anything that kept the family close.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m, Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. Henry's family will also receive friends and family members following the calling hours at the family home.
