PERU — Maurice Paul Tellier, 85, of Fuller Road, Peru, passed away Friday April 5, 2013, at Meadowbrook Healthcare, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Keeseville, Oct. 7, 1927, son of Alfred and Georgianna (Frazier) Tellier.
He served in the United States Navy for a brief time and later the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict prior to his honorable discharge, Feb. 27, 1953.
Maurice worked at Pratt-Whitney Manufacturing as a machinist in Conn. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was known as a real jokester. He was always prepared to pull someones leg. Maurice enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, and spending time in the woods. Maurice was a member of the Keeseville VFW Post 1505, and a communicant of St. Augustines Church in Peru.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda (Gordon) Tellier of Peru; children, Theresa Rock of Peru, Anne (Shaun) Luck of Plattsburgh, Gordon (Nicole, Niki) Rock of Peru, Roger (Cheryl) Rock of Peru, Rickey LaDuke of Tenn., Rita (John) Christian of Keeseville; seventeen grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Bombard of Keeseville, Joan Rock of Port Kent, and Georgianna Jan Warren of N.C.; brother, Ronald Ronnie (Mary) Tellier of Conn.; sister-in-law, Velma Tellier of Grandville; several neices and nephews; and many beloved friends who fondly refurred to him as Baldie.
He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Omer, Herman Chick, Arthur, and Gerard Tellier; and three sisters, Veleda LaClair, Geraldine Tellier, and Leona Tellier.
Calling hours will be held from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 10, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 P.M. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Alan D. Shnob, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Keeseville.
