Donna Hargett

MINEVILLE — Donna Hargett, 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 02, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Born in Ticonderoga on May 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Coley and Katherine Barber.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Harry Hargett; two beloved sons, Mark Hargett and Lorraine, Matthew Hargett and Bobbi Jo; sister, Sally O'Dell; brothers, Joseph Coley, Neil Coley, and Mike Annis; Step Sisters, Sheila Bennett and Judy Stacy; "Adopted" son Pete McCoy and his wife Penny; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Donna was employed many years at Nu-Way Laundry in Port Henry and Simmons Precision in Vergennes, Vt., for 20 years.

Donna is best known as a simple woman, her greatest love of her life was her family. Together they enjoyed with great enthusiasum the many outdoor opportunites the Adirondacks has to offer, fishing the lake and ponds, snowmobiling and 4 wheeling the mountains and trails, and riding the 75 Road.

Donna was the grace that placed herself among us and we were all the recipients of her heart of gold. Her presence had a profound effect on all she came in contact with. She carried with her an infectious smile and with those big brown eyes and her gentle spirit, she illuminated acceptance, warmth, understanding and most importantly the highest order - LOVE. She genuinely made us feel important to her and the world. She always believed in the best of us and we all were her special someone!

She communicated the example of perseverance and long suffering. With "quiet" determination on to the very end...exhausting all known medical avenues she went. Watching at times, one might ponder the questions Why? What for? But now we can somehow perhaps understand - "In the warriors coat there is no surrender. She knows not the word defeat.:" More work had to be done. With her eyes firmly fixed upon her family and her friends that so lovingly and loyally surrounded her, she drew from our strength - gathered up her incredible will and bravely she moved forward...believing we aren't just what we do...we do what we are!
