PLATTSBURGH — Patrick C. Collins, 88, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 10, 1924 the son of Francis and Margaret (Conroy) Collins.
Patrick was a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Treadwell Mills and a member of Local #773 Plumber and Steamfitters Union. He was a union plumber and steam fitter for many years, working many jobs in the local area including at CVPH Medical Center and the Miner Farm. Patrick enjoyed wood working, his many cars and puttering in his garage.
Survivors include two brothers, F. John Collins of Plattsburgh and Michael Collins of West Chazy; two sisters, Theresa Conroy of Beekmantown and Catherine Wheeler and her husband Leon of Lakeland Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Blanche Borie; and his second wife, the former Evelyn Cook; and his sister, Mary Conroy formerly of Castleton, N.Y.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh.
