PLATTSBURGH — Lillian P. Corcoran, 85, of Terrace West Way, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at her home. She was born July 21, 1928, in Champlain, the daughter of Harvey and Helen (Boulerice) Matott.
Lillian graduated from St. Mary's Academy.
She married William Corcoran at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point on October 24, 1959.
Lillian was fiercely independent, humorous, and generous to a fault. She was characterized "as one strong lady" and surely demonstrated this throughout the challenges of the last few years. Her inner strength is what made her a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and a true friend. Lillian enjoyed attending family gatherings, spirited debate, and quiet evenings on her back porch overlooking the lake.
Survivors include one son, Bill Corcoran and his wife Sara Broadwell of Morrisonville; one daughter, Kerry Corcoran and her husband Jack Amrock of Windham, Maine; one brother, Joseph Matott and his wife Shirley of West Chazy; one sister, Shirley Brothers of Plattsburgh; two sisters-in-law, Isabelle Matott of Plattsburgh and Lena Matott of Rouses Point; ten nieces and five nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, William Corcoran; a granddaughter, Makenna Corcoran; three brothers, Marcel Matott, Charles Matott and his wife Shirley, and Henry Matott; three brothers-in-law, Orville Brothers, Robert Christiana, and James Corcoran and his wife Mildred; two nephews, Michael Brothers and Larry Matott.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rouses Point.
