TICONDEROGA — Ann O. Bennett, 77. of Sebring, Fla. and formerly of Ticonderoga, died on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her Florida residence.
Born in Ticonderoga, Sept. 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Mary Elizabeth (Vazac) Ormsbee Jr.
Mrs. Bennett was a resident of Ticonderoga for most of her life, before moving to Alabama, and then retiring in Florida.
She was employed as a telephone operator for New York Telephone Company in Ticonderoga for many years.
Ann was an avid reader, and enjoyed working with her computer and various gadgets.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Carl Donald Bennett on Oct. 27, 2007. She was also pre-deceased by three sisters, Lynn McNab, Gail (Frank) Routh and Judith Labenz.
Survivors include one son, James Bennett of Bishop, Ga.; one daughter, Kelley (Robert) Noel of Ticonderoga; four grandsons, Jason Bennett, Matt Connery and Chris Connery, all of Ticonderoga, and James Bennett II of Georgia; five brothers, Phillip Ormsbee of Arnold, Calif., Jack (Bernice) Ormsbee of Ballston Lake, William Ormsbee of Falls Church, Va., Murray (Elaine) Ormsbee of Camillus, and Chris (Rose) Ormsbee of Hudson Falls; and one sister, Jeanne (Michael) Kolysko of Rio Rancho, N.M. She is also survived by two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the family plot of the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Ticonderoga. The Rev. Mr. Elliott A. Shaw will officiate.
