— ADELPHI, MD. — Anna Fern Healey "Fern," 89, of Riggs Road, Adelphi, Md., and a summer residence in North Burke, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Ann Fugere. Born April 3, 1925, in Burke, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Malloy) Dougherty.

She was married to Ambrose David Healey on April 12, 1947, in St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay. He predeceased her on Aug. 19, 2013.

Mrs. Healey graduated from Chateaugay Central School and the St. Lawrence School of Nursing, Ogdensburg. She also was trained at Albany Medical School in anesthesia and received her bachelor of science degree in nurse anesthesia from George Washington University, Washington D.C. Mrs. Healey was employed as a certified registered nurse anesthetist by Prince Georges General Hospital, Cheverly, Md.

She was a communicant of St. Camillus Catholic Church, Silver Spring, Md.

Mrs. Healey is survived by two daughters and sons—in—law, Ann (Via) and Ray Fugere of Ellicott City, Md., Diane and Kevin Flowers of Woodbine, Md.; five grandchildren, Christopher Via and his wife Jamie of Trophy Club, Texas, Kimberly (Via) Smith of Elkridge, Md., Phoebe, Kyle and Kevin Flowers II, all of Woodbine, Md.; several nieces and nephews

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; a granddaughter, Melody Flowers; four sisters, Violet Marsh, Harriet Dougherty, Lucille Kiley, and Mary Johnson; and a brother, John Dougherty.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to7 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at the Chateaugay Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, in St. Patrick's Church with Rev. John Looby officiating. Burial will take place at North Burke Cemetery, Burke.
