PLATTSBURGH — Betty Jane LaLonde, 70, of Quality Drive, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh, July 2, 1943, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Martino) Martineau.
Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her garden, and fill-in-puzzles. Also, there are her two great-granddaughters that she raised, Mariah and Nyiomi Lapham. These two girls were her whole life. Then there were her grandchildren that she was very close to; Thomas Whitman, Mindy and Michelle Lapham.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lalonde; and her children and their spouses, Brenda and Gee Bell, Laurie and Cooper Whitman, Barbara Brean; siblings Vernon and Beatrice Martineau, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Martineau; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandkids; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Amanda Liberty, Sister Charlotte Blake, and her infant daughter, Tina.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Edie A. Poland, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Schuyler Falls Cemetery.
