Russell H. Clarke

MALONE — Russell H. Clarke, 68, of Malone, N.Y., diedWednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at CVPH in Plattsburgh, N.Y., with his loving wife and family at his side.

Born in Gloucester, Mass., Aug. 30, 1945, he was the son of the late Hugh and Dorothy Harding Clarke.

On Oct. 10, 1970, he was united in marriage to the former Ida C. Brooks at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bradley, Maine. She survives.

For many years, Russ was employed by Woolworth's Company and later Ames in several locations and lastly in Malone as a manager. He then was employed by Wolverine Worldwide as a salesman for 25 years. He retired in 2004.

After his retirement, he devoted his time to the Malone community by serving on the Malone Village Zoning Board and the Malone Lodge of Elks where he was a past Exalted Ruler and was serving on the Board of Trustees.

He enjoyed travel, gardening and caring for his lawn. Mornings were spent with his buddies at Maplefield's solving the worlds problems over coffee. He was just recently presented by his friends with a sippy cup so he would not spill his hot coffee down the front of his shirt. His love was extended not only to his grandchildren, but also to the children of the neighborhood throughout the years.

Along with his wife, Ida; he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Wendi and Joseph Kobylarz of Pawleys Island, S.C.; twin sons, Christopher Clarke and his wife Jimmi Joy of Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Matthew Clarke and his fianc^e Julie Rushford of Chateaugay, N.Y.; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Steven Hodgson of Dover, N.H.; eight grandchildren, triplets, Samuel, Tyler and Zachary Kobylarz, Devin, Jakob and Brandt Clarke and Kylie Hanley and Maxwell Clarke; and several nieces and nephews.
