NORTH, S.C. — Richard "Dicky" Lighthall, 66, of North, S.C., died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at his daughters residence in Beaver Falls, Pa.
Born Jan. 25, 1947, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., he was the son of Doris McCloud Lighthall and the late Egbert Lighthall.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received a purple heart. He was a roofer for Plattsburgh and an electrical superintendent. Richard loved all sports and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Roberson Lighthall; two daughters and a son-in-law, Candice and Ryan Frantz and Justine Lighthall; a sister and brother-in-law, Judith and AJ Marking and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert (Bobby); a brother, William "Billy" and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at the American Legion Post 20, 162 Quarry Road, Plattsburgh, NY, 12901.
