Press-Republican

---- — UPPER JAY — "Jack" left the mountains that he so dearly loved on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.

He left behind his wife of 58 years, Marian P. Wilcox (Betsy); his three children, Jackie a Wilcox Jr. and his wife Karen of Tampa, Fla., Thomas L. Wilcox and his wife Cindy of Oldsmar Fla., his daughter Susan W. Wagner and her husband David of Tampa Fla; his daughter-in-law Debbie Wilcox the wife of his deceased son, Brian C. Wilcox; eight grandchildren, Sara Wilcox, Jackie A. Wilcox III, Lindsay Wilcox, Matthew Wilcox, Alex Wilcox, Nicholas Wilcox, Megan Wagner and Josh Wagner; one great-grandchild, Dominick Wilcox, all living in the state of Florida; three sisters, Aline Labrake, Carolyn Thompson, and Babette Ledwith; and many nephews and nieces.

Jack attended Lake Placid High School. He went to Clearwater, Fla. And started his own business in 1964 which is now managed by his eldest son Jackie and daughter Susan. He returned the mountains in 1982. His retirement years were spent restoring the camp he bought and called Sunnyside Nytis on the west shore of Lake Placid. In 1987, he built the camp in upper Jay New York. This was his dream camp, and after leaving the lake, his dream came true. He spent the next ten years building his dream "One board at a time". His dream is completed now, so he has moved on, but he will always remain in the mountains he loves so dearly.

At the request of Jackie A. Wilcox Sr., there are no services. The M.B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com.
