PITTSFORD, NY.- — Robert P. Wieboldt, 86, passed away March 16, 2013 after a brief illness. Bob was born in Highland Park, IL on September 9, 1926, the son of Werner A. Wieboldt and Pearl O. Pomy. He was in the U.S. Army in the Philippines in 1945 to 1946 and is a graduate of California Polytechnic Institute.
He started the Bull Valley Pig Nursery in Indiana in 1954 and later worked for Wieboldt Department Stores in the Chicago area. In 1969 Bob and his family moved to Tucson, Ariz. where he operated several successful businesses until he retired in the 1980s. He and his wife, Judy, moved to Pittsford, N.Y., in 2008 to be near their family.
He is predeceased by his son Darrell L. Wieboldt and wife Helen (Jernigan) Wieboldt. He is survived by his wife, Julia (Gonyea) Stowell Wieboldt, formerly of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; son, Douglas W. Wieboldt of Portland Maine; sister, Pearl Anne (Edwin) Seipp of Atherton, Calif.; stepdaughter in law, Mary Jane (Stephen) Riley of Mendon, N.Y.; 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or service. Donations can be made to a charity of choice in Bob's memory.
