HARRISBURG, PA. — Elizabeth "Bette" Marie Yutronich, recently of Kindred Place (where she will be dearly missed), passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at VibraLife in Mechanicsburg, surrounded by her loving family in her 90th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis A. Yutronich.
Elizabeth was born June 14, 1924, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., a daughter of the late John Leo and Marguerite Edith (Martin) Young. She grew up in Willsboro, N.Y., then she lived briefly in Swampscott, Mass., before moving to Danvers, Mass., and she raised her family in Blackwood, N.J. She worked as an administrative secretary at Gloucester Twp. School System in Blackwood, for over 30 years before her retirement. Bette was a devout Catholic who was very active in her churches, St. Jude and Our Lady of Hope in Blackwood, serving as organist, Eucharist minister, and a former officer of the Parish Council. She was very generous with her time, volunteering at a Lakeland hospital playing the organ for the patients. She enjoyed praying the Rosary, daily Mass, novenas, knitting, feeding the birds, and baking. She was known for her delicious apple pies. She also enjoyed vacationing at camp in Willsboro Bay, N.Y. She was a devoted mother, ensuring her children were always cared for. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are four children, Dr. Dan Yutronich (Nancy) of Halifax, Carol Young (Douglas Randy) of Willsboro, Jo Ann Short (Francis) of Burke, Va., and Judy Cardinale (Dr. Joseph) of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, Kymberli, Kyle, Kristen, Kevin, Joey, Jillian, Frank, and Erin; and three great-grandchildren, Makayla, Logan, and Myles; and her sister, Loretta Michalowski (Alfred) of New Hampshire.
Viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 13, from Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Harrisburg and from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 14, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd, Harrisburg, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11am. A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church, 3746 Main Street Willsboro, NY at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m.. A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Hope Church, Blackwood, NJ. Service details to be announced from the church. Contributions may be offered to Our Lady of Hope, 701 Little Gloucester Rd.
