NORTH BENNINGTON, Vt. — Jacqueline Mary Nisoff, "Jackie", 90, died peacefully Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in North Bennington, Vt. where she was living with one of her daughters.
Jackie was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on May 19, 1923.
She grew up in several towns in Queensland and met her future husband David H. Nisoff in Townsville where he was serving with the U.S. 5th Air Corp during WWII. They were married in 1942 and Jackie emigrated to the U.S. In 1943. Jackie settled in the Plattsburgh, N.Y. area where her husband was from, and resided in the area until Aug., 2013, when she moved to Vermont to live with her daughter.
Jackie was predeceased by her husband David and a daughter, Jacqueline.
Jackie is survived by four children, David J. Nisoff of Plattsburgh, Marilyn Nisoff Funkhouser of Burke, Va., John J. Nisoff of Durham, N.C. and Heather Nisoff Bullock of North Bennington, Vt. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, at the Heald Funeral Home, 43 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 11, at St. Alexander's Church, 1 Church Street, Morrisonville, NY 12962.
