Delbert Gregory

HUDSON FALLS — Delbert Gregory, born May 21, 1934, in Moriah, to Adelbert and Elizabeth Gregory, passed away Nov. 11, 2013, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness.

Delbert enjoyed woodworking and made many wonderful crafts that he shared with family and friends. He was a great storyteller and spent many years as Hoppy Maker on the cb radio. Dad's greatest times were with those that he spent with his family. He enjoyed playing jokes and antagonizing them.

Delbert was predeceased by three sons, David, Curtis and Lee; a grandson, Curtis Jr.; his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Claudette (Sis) Gregory; his children, Debbie (Victor) Mandy, Rob (Tammy) Gregory, Meg (Richard) Sheffer, Mark Gregory and his girlfriend Emily, Renee (Scott) DuRoss; his former daughter-in-law, Penny Lacey and Cheryl DuRoss; his grandchildren, Nicole, Michelle, Jennifer, Rich, Brenda, Jessica, Brooke, Emilee, Andrew, Erica, Dayna and Brendan; his great-grandchildren, Trent, Emily, Hailiegh, Keagen, Jaicob, Jacey, Peyton and Harper. Delbert is also survived by Florence Orr, his companion of many years, as well as her children and grandchildren.

A special thank you to Patty and George for all the care and support you have given our father during his time of illness. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at both Glens Falls Hospital and the Renal Dialysis Center for all the care and compassion you have shown our father through the years of his illness.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Moriah, NY.

Donations may be made to the Renal Dialysis Center, 3 Broad St., Glens Falls, NY 12801 in memory of Delbert Gregory.
