AU SABLE FORKS — Barbara L. (Booth) Gero died on Nov. 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Aug. 7, 1959, in Plattsburgh, N.Y. She was the daughter of James and Barbara Booth.
Barb was the President of Adirondack Hardware in Keeseville, N.Y. She recently retired after 28 years of service. She was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #504 Auxiliary in Au Sable Forks, N.Y. and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary, in Sebring, Fla.
Barb loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her husband and best friend, Francis and daughter Rebecca. Barb loved shopping and she especially loved her shopping trips to the Christmas Tree Shop with her daughter. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandson Jaxston. She was the Robin to his Batman, and they went on many adventures together.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing Words with Friends, cooking, gambling, and watching her nieces and nephews play sports. Barb enjoyed her time with friends and family, playing cards around the kitchen table. Her fun loving spirit was contagious and everyone had a good time when they were with Barb. She was looking forward to her retirement and loved spending time with her friends in Florida. Barb was an avid Red Sox fan and was celebrating their recent World Series Championship.
Barb was the first to offer help when someone needed a hand. Along with her husband, Francis, they volunteered many hours in the kitchen at the American Legion and at the Ironman Aid Station in Black Brook.
She was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Thelma (Booth) Williams; and one brother James J. Booth III.; and a nephew, James Williams. Barb is joined by her best friend and husband of 34 years, Francis.
She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Fuller, her son-in-law Jason and her grandson Jaxston. She is also survived by five sisters and two brothers, Mary and Martin Coolidge, Pamela and Chris Garrow, both of Jay, Sandra and Peter Cassavaugh of Lake Placid, N.Y., Timothy and Ramona Booth of Keeseville, N.Y., Bill Booth of Hesperia, Calif, and Susan Lawrence and Penny Kilburn both of Au Sable Forks; one aunt, Emma Jeanne Lowther; nieces and nephews, Mark, Missy, William, Jasin, Travis, J.P, Daryl, Nicole, Russell, Trevor, Vanessa, Michaelene, Hannah, Gary, and Carrie. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law; and numerous cousins.
