---- — PLATTSBURGH — Alfred A. Agnew, 88, of the Brown Road, Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Beekmantown, N.Y, on Sept. 23, 1924.

Alfred retired as a Firefighter from the City of Plattsburgh Fire Department in 1973 after 23 years of service.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Marie Agnew; and a son, Gary Agnew.

Alfred is survived by a son, Mark Agnew and his wife June of Keeseville, N.Y.; an adopted son, Scott Agnew of Plattsburgh; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 18, 2013 at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimer's Research.
