MORIAH CENTER — On March 28, 2014, Lloyd J. Boyea Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 3, 1947, in Malone, N.Y., to the late Leo and Celinda Boyea.
He graduated from Mineville High School in 1965. Lloyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He married Victoria Briggs June 27, 1969.
Lloyd retired from Goodrich in 2009 after 30 years of service. He was best known for his sense of humor, generosity, and thoughtfulness. He was a creative woodworker and an avid camper. His greatest pride, however, was his family. He was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Victoria; a brother, Richard and wife Patti of Chazy and their daughters, Nichole and Ashley. He was also survived by two sons, Joe and wife Carey of Orwell, Vt., Pete and wife Dawn of Fort Edward; and two daughters, Lacey LaCourse and husband Nate of Ticonderoga and Kathy Boyea-Groshans of Moriah Center; 14 grandchildren, Dustin, Mark and fianc^e Shelby, Todd, Steffen and wife Tracee, Seth, Jenna, Michael, Megan, Ryan, Eliza, David, Savannah, Kailey and Nathan; and seven great-grandchildren, Caiden, Scarlett, Madison, Myah, Grace, Bryson, Hunter and Hayden; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, at Harland's Funeral Home in Port Henry, N.Y. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 31, at St. Patrick's Church in Port Henry. Following the Mass, a reception will be held at the Parish Center of St. Patrick's Church. The rite of committal will occur at a later date.
