PLATTSBURGH — Elaine P. Geno, born June 2, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Edith and William Townsend, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at CVPH Medical Center.
For many years, Elaine was a stay-at-home mother. In 1988, she earned her GED and returned to the workforce. She was employed at Plattsburgh State, Walmart and Lowes.
Elaine was a fabulous cook and artist. She was a master at decorating cakes as well. Her hobbies included music, singing, reading, watching golf, and spending as much time with her family as she could. Her quick wit always made people smile.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, William and Edith Mowry of Florida; her son, John and his wife Song of Peru; and her daughter, Susan Andre and her husband Paul, also of Peru; her pride and joys - grandsons, Christopher Geno of Charleston S.C., Tony Geno of Potsdam, Tyler and Jacob Andre of Peru, and granddaughter, Katherine Shambo of Clifton Park; her brothers, Bill, Steve, Walter, and Danny; and her sister, Gail. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Poppy (Poppydoodles); her best friend, Barb Payro of Keeseville; and Harold Geno of Plattsburgh.
Elaine will be greatly missed. She was the best mom, grandmother, and friend that we could have ever asked for. Rest in peace, Mom; we will forever hold you in our hearts. We love you.
