---- — OTEGO — Inez Gertrude "Trudy" Lamberton, 85, of Oneonta and formerly of Otego passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta. She was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Pinkney, N.Y. the daughter of the late Truman and Musetta (Dawley) Williams.

Trudy graduated Valedictorian from Antwerp High School the class of 1945. Following high school she went to Watertown School of Commerce and graduated Salutatorian the class of 1947.

Trudy worked at GLF (Agway) in Canton where she met her husband. On June 20, 1947 she married Harold Lamberton in Canton, N.Y. Together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.

Trudy was an entrepreneur before her time, co-owning a luncheonette and convenience store, "Hal & Trudy's" with Harold in Minaville. She was also the tax collector for the Town of Florida. She also worked at Montgomery Co. Trust as a bank teller prior to moving to Otego. In 1965, Harold and Trudy moved to Otego. Trudy worked at Wilber National Bank as a Customer Service Representative for 17 years before retiring.

Trudy was a member of the Town of Florida and the Otego Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; the Labora Club in Minaville where she was past president; and she attended the Otego Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir.

Trudy loved to cook, dance and entertain. She was an avid Yankees fan. Her greatest joy was family get togethers. Family and friends were truly important to her and she cherished the time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Harold Lamberton of Oneonta; five children, H. Edwin & Betsy Lamberton of Broadalbin, Gary & Beverly Lamberton of Port Crane, Marlene & Jim Heath of Morris, Deborah & Joe Ingalls of Simpsonville, S.C., and Michelle Lamberton of Clifton Park; eight grandchildren, Gary Lamberton, Jr., Joy Arcolano, Amanda Shearer, Tiffany Englert, Adam and Mark Ingalls, John and Nick Michalowski; three great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Geneva Arcolano and Brennan Shearer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Lamberton, Dickie Lamberton and wife Almira, Betty Duquette and husband Lucien, Janice Sargeant, Sandy Sample and husband Ally, Jim Lamberton and wife Bev, Carol Hamilton and husband Walter, Evelyn Richards and husband Larry, and Irene Lamberton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Marlene Oliver; and brother, Edwin Williams.

Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 34 River Street, Otego. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Nancy Stanley of the Morris Methodist Church officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Trudy Lamberton may be made to the Otego Emergency Squad, River Street, Otego, NY, 13825. Burial will be in the spring in the Union Cemetery in Mooers Forks.
