MORIAH CENTER — Dianne M. Stevenson, 69, of Moriah Center, N.Y. died on March 5, 2014, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home with her family by her side.
She was born in Dannemora, N.Y. on Dec. 29, 1944, the daughter of Homer and Marie (Bushey) Vaughan.
She married Duane Stevenson Sr. on Aug. 19, 1961, in Mineville, N.Y. They lived in Keene Valley, N.Y. until moving to Mineville in 1964. Dianne moved in with her daughter Tammy and her husband Richard Sherman Jr. of Moriah Center shortly after Duane's passing in 2002, where she remained until 2011. Dianne enjoyed dancing and having a good time. She enjoyed spending time and talking with family.
Survivors include her children, Jacob and his wife Tammy Stevenson of Mineville, Duane Jr. and his wife Diana Stevenson of Mineville, Tammy and her husband Richard Sherman Jr. of Moriah Center, Tracy and her husband Craig Sherman of Mineville; her grandchildren, Tonya Karkoski and husband Robert of Mineville, Jamie Stevenson of Ticonderoga, Richard Sherman III of Mineville, Jacob Stevenson of Moriah, Shelby Sherman of Clifton Park, Alexis Sherman of Moriah Center and Nicholas Sherman of Mineville; along with several great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10, at All Saints Church, Bartlett Pond Road, Mineville. Burial will take place in the spring at Moriah Union Cemetery. A gathering will be held at the Mineville Veterans of Foreign Wars, Raymond Wright Ave., Mineville, following the service.
