---- — LEWIS — Debra Ann Reynolds, 57, of Lewis, passed away on June 16, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was born in Easton, Pa., on Sept. 4, 1954, the daughter of Thomas and Lorraine Smith, both deceased.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Elton Reynolds. Debbie and Elton met in Beaufort, S.C., and they married Jan. 26, 1973. They spent 39 wonderful years together and had 6 children together. Her children are Samantha Melendez and partner Rob Ashline, Elton Reynolds Jr. and wife Jennifer, Thomas Reynolds and wife Leslie, Tabitha Weiss and husband Anthony, Maureen Lindsay and husband Paul, and Paula Montville. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren; her brother, Billy Smith; her sisters, Elaine (and Floyd) Paff, and Melody Slack.
Her brother, Thomas Smith, and sister, Maureen Howells, are deceased.
She worked for many years as a caregiver at the Advocacy and Resource Center of Essex County, where she enjoyed caring for, teaching, and spending time with her residents. Also, she was a strong advocate for the residents' rights and fought to ensure that they had the best care.
She enjoyed taking her 6 children to watch their father's softball games, collecting porcelain dolls, and scrapbooking. She spent her final years enjoying the company of her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 22, at the Reber United Methodist Church. A gathering of friends and family will follow immediately after the service at the Lewis Fire Department.
