MORIAH — Audrey Anne Baker, 72, of Moriah, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown. She was born in Plattsburgh on June 8, 1940, the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha Prevost.
Audrey graduated from Port Henry High School in 1958. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom and talented seamstress.
Audrey was employed for several years as a legal secretary. She was an avid golfer, gardener and baker. She enjoyed her winter travels to Florida and golfing trips to the Balsams Resort in New Hampshire. Spending time with her grandchildren gave her great pleasure.
Audrey is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Martin) Bezon of Bridgeport, Ingrid (Michael) Heller of Baldwinsville, Holly (Ronald) Mitchell of Westport; six grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, Joshua, Alexa, Sydney and Chloe; and one great-grandchild, Emma. Also surviving are her two sisters, Sylvia (Don) Buckingham of Watertown and Arlene Breeyear of St. Cloud, Fla. Audrey was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Thomas Baker; and her sister, Elaine Fields.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In Audrey's memory, in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or to Horace Nye Nursing Home.
