TICONDEROGA. — Ira E. Graves Jr., 57, of Ticonderoga, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Ticonderoga, March 9, 1956, he was the son of the late Ira E. and Bessie E. (Baker) Graves, Sr.
Ira was a lifelong Ticonderoga resident. As a young boy, he worked as a Farm hand on the teRiele farm in Ticonderoga. Through the years he worked for the Town of Ticonderoga at the Land Fill, worked at an apple orchard in Vermont and was a Pilot for the Ticonderoga Ferry.
His greatest enjoyment was gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was also pre-deceased by two sisters, Anna Yvonne Graves and Meredith Frechette; and one brother, Charles Graves.
He is survived by one brother, John E. Graves Sr. and his wife, Sharon of Ticonderoga, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the Spring at the family plot of the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Ticonderoga.
