NASHVILLE, TENN. — Dorotha M. Sisco Thomas, 93, formerly of Chenango Bridge, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.
She was predeceased by parents, Olin and Ethel Sisco; husband, Lynn Thomas and great-grandchild, Ethan Thomas Hurford.
Dorotha and her husband Lynn were long-time members of the Grace Baptist Church on Binghamton's East Side and they devoted their lives to the service of the Lord. She had lived in Chenango Bridge before moving to Plattsburgh and then to Nashville with her loving daughter's family.
She is survived by her loving family, son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Elrene Thomas, Highland, N.Y.; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and David Hesse, Thompsons Station, Tenn.; five grandchildren and their spouses, David and Rebeca Thomas, Christianna and Jeff Hurford, Nathan Thomas, Joshua and Jennifer Hesse, Rachel Hesse; five great- grandchildren, Josiah Hurford, Kaden Hesse, Delaney Hesse, Josiah Hesse, Brielle Hesse; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, with her son, Rev. John R. Thomas officiating at Savage Funeral Service, 338 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13903. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Chenango Valley Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.savagefs. com.
