ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Julie Anne (Dobson) Bedard, 66, previously of Plattsburgh, died peacefully at home with her loving family on Dec. 19.
Loving mother to two daughters, supportive sister, aunt like a second mother to her nieces and nephews, and full-hearted grandmother.
She is missed by daughters Rae (Charles) Norton, Lisa (Mark) Spiegel; brothers William L. Dobson Jr. (Lucille) and Dana Dobson (Katrina); nephews and niece Beau (Melissa) and Ben (Savon), Billie-Kahealani, Jesse and Jake; grandchildren Michel and Matthew, Annie and Clara, Leslie, Emily, Jake; and nine great-grandchildren.
Julie was a woman of extraordinary talents and she served her community, often in leadership, from New York to Florida. A licensed beautician, she gave thousands of free haircuts. A true entrepreneur, she created the largest night club in far upstate New York. She was a proud lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. An amazing artist, her shell and glass art is displayed in many Florida galleries, including the Dali Museum. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, readiness to join in any celebration and generous spirit.
Thanks to her many thoughtful friends and loving family who came to help and share their love. There will be a memorial celebration in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to SunCoast Hospice.
