WILLSBORO — Catherine Sullivan, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Brooklyn, to Helen Lancer and Anthony Sullivan.
She is survived by two sisters, Gertrude Sullivan and Rita Cox. She is also survived by seven nephews, one niece, four great-nieces, and two great-nephews. Catherine was predeceased by her sisters, Marie Main and Sr. Marie Anthony Sullivan, CSJ.
She graduated from St. Aloysuis Academy in Rome, N.Y., and then graduated from the College of St. Rose with a bachelor's degree in business education and a master's degree in business education. She taught in the business education department for Willsboro Central School District and retired after 44 years.
Catherine was a member of the NYS Retirement Teachers Association and a member of the Champlain Valley Council of Retirees. She was also a Communicant, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Choir Member, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church in Willsboro. Catherine taught religious education for a number of years, was a member of the Ogdensburgh Vocation Society and also a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Catherine wanted to give a special thank you to all who helped her especially Fr. Mickey Demo, Janice Sayward, Charlene Lobdell, Cheryl McClinchy, Sue Fahey, Richard Smith and Richard Droletti.
Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Monday, at Blessed Sacrament Church. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Magin & Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Ave. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery.
