SARANAC — Rebecca (Becky) L. Provost, 48, of Route 3, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her daughter and friends by her side. She was born on Jan. 13, 1966, in Burlington, Vt., to Elias and Joyce (Merchant) Metevier.
Rebecca enjoyed spending time with her daughter and animals, outdoor activities, camping, working with the impaired, spending time in the barn, cooking, drawing and time with friends and family. She was never without a smile, and thoroughly enjoyed helping others. She was employed at Vision Works (Empire Vision) in Plattsburgh.
Rebecca is survived by her daughter, Tawnia Provost of Saranac; her husband of 17 years, Kris Provost; her mother, Joyce Metevier of Shelburne, Vt.; her brothers, Scott and Michael Metevier of Shelburne, Vt.; her aunt, Gail Patnode of Cadyville; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and several great close friends.
Rebecca is predeceased by her father, Elias Metevier; and her mother-in-law, Beverly Provost.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Feb. 26, at St. James Church in Cadyville. Burial will be at a later date in St. James Cemetery in Cadyville.
