PERU — It is with great sorrow that the family of Ron LaMountain, announce his passing on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, following an extended illness.
Ron was born in Whitehall in 1948, the son of the late Reginald and Joyce (Rock) LaMountain.
Ron graduated from Whitehall Central School and SUNY Oswego where he studied the Industrial Arts curriculum. He was a shop teacher and football coach for 30 years.
A very talented person, Ron enjoyed hunting (especially turkey), fishing, building and remodeling, woodworking, and welding. He did many special projects with his students. He was a licensed DEC fishing guide for 12 years. He served in the United States Air Force for four enlisted years during the Vietnam Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Bromley of Glens Falls; two children, Courtenay L. Casson and husband Josh of Hilton Head, S.C., and Joshua Paul LaMountain of Peru; three sisters and their spouses, Judy and Rod Longtin, Sandi and Howie Osborne, and Michele and Jeff Belden, all of Whitehall.
There will be no public calling hours or services.
Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
