WILMINGTON — Robert (Bob) LaBombard passed away Monday night, Feb. 17, 2014.
Bob was a great husband, father and grandfather to his family.
He will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, sarcasm that made others smile and his stubbornness that earned him the nickname "Bull" among family and friends. Bob took many trips to his hunting camp in Cohocton, N.Y. with his two sons, Kevin and Bill Casler, along with his grandson, Ross Snow. At camp Bob occasionally went hunting or what he called "taking his gun for a walk", but his biggest pleasure was yelling, "Deal em Boys" as all the guys gathered around the table to play poker. Bob and his wife Jen spent many evenings, especially Friday nights at their favorite restaurant, The Wilderness Inn II. They also enjoyed playing rummy on the front porch and watering the roses together on summer evening. Bob had a passion for wood working, making furniture, gag gifts, signs and much more in his work shop at his house. Bob served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 and served in the Army reserves for several years.
Bob is survived by Jennie, his wife of 49 years; and his sons, Bill Casler and his wife Cindy of Jay, N.Y. and Kevin Casler and his wife Kate of Wilmington, N.Y.; as well as six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Casler.
At Bob's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
The Thwaits-Zaumetzer Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
