WEST CHAZY — Mrs. Audrey M. Bulriss, 89, of Route 22, West Chazy passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side. She was born Dec. 13, 1924, in West Chazy, the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Lucia) LaPier. She and her husband, Willard, owned and operated a dairy farm their entire lives.
Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed cooking special dishes for the family.
Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Margaret LaPier; her husband of 65 years, Willard Bulriss; brothers, Arthur, Walter, Bernard, Francis, Orville, Theodore, Gerald, Raymond, and Newell; sisters, Gertrude Fifield, Eva Sheridan and Margaret Hebert.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Judy E. Averill and husband John of West Chazy, Arlene S. "Sandy" Defayette and husband James L. of West Chazy, and Willard R. Bulriss and wife Sherry of West Chazy; seven grandchildren, Jill and Steven Rasco, Amy and Gary LaValley, John M. and Tracie Averill, Sara and Dale Gadway, Nicole Bulriss, Mindy Bulriss, and Samantha Bulriss; eleven great-grandchildren, Eric and Amanda Rasco, Ryan and Adam LaValley, Brooke Averill, Evan and Cody Gadway, Ty Tedford Bulriss, Payton and Maddison Relation, and Reese Duprey; two step grandchildren, Amanda Jackson and Tara Jackson; a step great-grandson, Jameson Bryant; a sister-in-law, Vergulis LaPier of Altona; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Interment will be at a later date at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Donations in Audrey's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church, Masses held in her memory, or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
