KEESEVILLE — Mr. Everett Paul Spear, 73, of the Port Douglas Road, Keeseville passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at his home with his loving family by his side under the care of High Peaks Hospice.
He was born in Lyon Mountain, N.Y. on June 30, 1940, the son of Frederick and Helen (McDonald) Spear.
Paul served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. He owned and operated Paul's Barber Shop on the Port Douglas Road. Paul was an avid golfer and was a member of Harmony Golf Course. He enjoyed traveling to and wintering in Florida. Paul was a former member of the Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department and he was a current member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Keeseville Lodge #2072 and the Plattsburgh Moose Lodge #2390. He was a scout leader and taught the Hunter Safety Course. Paul was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.
He was predeceased by his father, Frederick Spear; and his brothers, Donald and Robert Spear.
Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Rascoe) Spear of Keeseville. They were married at St. Bernard's Church, Saranac Lake on Oct. 21, 1961. He is also survived by his mother, Helen Spear of Keeseville; three daughters, Linda Spear and her husband Joel Felber of East Syracuse, Laurie Blaise and her husband Christopher of Lake George, Paula St. Clair and her husband Todd of Plattsburgh and Poinciana, Fla.; a sister, Carolyn Drollette and her husband Lloyd of Cadyville; two brothers, William Spear and his wife Pearl of New Port Richey, Fla., James Spear and his wife Linda of Keeseville; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014
at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY. Elks Keeseville Lodge #2072 will be meeting at 6 p.m. for a prayer service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at Our Lady of Victory Church. Entombment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery Columbarium.
