KEESEVILLE — Susan M. Stranahan, 77, of Route 9N, Keeseville, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, following a brief illness. Her loving family was by her side. She was born Aug. 30, 1936, in Keeseville, the daughter of Wilfred and Hilda (Clark) Boisseau. Susan grew up in Keeseville and graduated from Keeseville High School in 1954. She attended nursing school in Albany.
Susan married the love of her life, Ashley Stranahan, Monday, Oct. 22, 1956, in Keeseville. She was a loving homemaker, who always took care of her family before herself. She was a devout Catholic, and loved reading from her Bible each and every day.
Survivors include her two beloved children, Stephen Stranahan of Morrisonville, who was the special light of her life; daughter and son-in-law, Sara A. and Blair Pray of Peru; cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Pray, Kristen Brassard and her husband Grant, all of Peru; sister-in-law, Nancy Boisseau of Keeseville; several nieces and nephews; and special adopted daughter, Kim McCulloch of Port Kent.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband of 56 years, Ashley, Oct. 11, 2013; brothers, John Boisseau, and Ward Boisseau; and sister, Lois Boisseau.
There will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Burial will be held Friday, May 2, at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Keeseeville, following a 9 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Conception Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Advocacy Resource Center or Keeseville Rescue Squad.
