---- — DANNEMORA — Francis M. Drollette, a lifelong resident of both Dannemora and Chazy Lake, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, one week before his 96th birthday. He was born July 4, 1917, the son of Elmore and Amelia (Bailey) Drollette. Francis was predeceased by his beloved bride of 66 years, Lillian (Gratto) Drollette.

Francis graduated from Dannemora High School and a business school in Plattsburgh. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Merchant Marines in the Pacific theatre.

Francis and his brother, Clarence, were well-regarded contractors and are remembered for their honest and conscientious work. They built over 300 custom homes in Clinton County. Most recently, Francis and the Blair brothers designed and built Maggy Marketplace. He also designed and consulted with builders of the Lyon Mountain Fire Dept.

Francis leaves his only daughter, Joanne, wife of Dick Becker of Chazy Lake; and beloved grandchildren, Gail, wife of Tim Betts of Gilman, Vt., Amy, wife of Matt Millard of Franklin, Mass., and Rick Becker of Chazy Lake. He was devoted to all of his family, including seven great- grandchildren, Jessica Norris, Maria Betts, Emily Betts, Abby Betts, Alaina Millard, Blake Millard and Trent Becker. Francis will forever leave a legacy of love, joy, and kindness.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Following the services, a reception will be held in the church hall.
