DANNEMORA — Richard A. "Dick" Cusprinie, 80, of Flynn Ave. in Plattsburgh and formerly of Dannemora, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh with his family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh, March 16, 1933, the son of the late Ambrose and Helen (McManus) Cusprinie.
Dick served in the Army during the Korean War and later was employed by the NYS Department of Corrections for over 36 years and retired as a Captain at Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg. He was a member the Keeseville Elks Lodge, the Moose Lodge, the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, V.F.W. Post 125, American Legion, Post 20 in Plattsburgh, the Big Horn Hunting Club, and was an avid bowler, hunter and fisherman.
Dick is survived by his children, Catherine Cusprinie of West Chazy, Renee Cusprinie of Westport, Caroline Durocher and companion David Cayea of West Chazy, Maggie Cusprinie of Albany, Agnes Kelly and Ian Jones of Teaticket, Mass.; his 11 grandchildren, Katie, Richard, Joyce, Eric, Camille, Elizabeth, Matthew Ambrose, Katelyn Colette, Josh , Amie and Jaden; a cousin; Marlene and her husband Karl Schneck; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and; his dear friend, Geraldine Geri Buckley of West Chazy.
Dick is predeceased by his first wife, Catherine "Katie" F. Cusprinie; his parents; his brother, James "Gus" Cusprinie; and his sisters, Corinne "Betty" Marie Cusprinie, and Patricia Raudenbush.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
