PLATTSBURGH — Virginia E. "Ginny" Anderson, 80, of Robert Long Apartments, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on Jan. 15, 1933, the daughter of Frank and Rosanna (Shear) Lanoue.
Ginny had worked at the Shoe Nook, the Little Red Shoe House and retired as manager of Tru-Stitch Footwear. She was a member of the Junior League at Champlain Valley Hospital before it merged with Physicians Hospital and became CVPH Medical Center. Ginny was a talented ice skater and traveled with the Ice Capades. She enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, bowling, bingo, crafting, photography and playing Keno with the gals.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Rosanna Lanoue; a brother, Frank T. Lanoue; a sister, Edith Glenrose Lanoue, who died in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Edsel Welch.
Ginny is survived by a son, Dana Parnaby and his wife Amy and his children Dana Jr., Danny and their son Garrett of Massena; three daughters, Kathy Leavine and her husband Kevin and their children, Craig, Derek and Olivia, of Plattsburgh, Tammie Smart and her husband Leonard of Plattsburgh, Kim Elsner and her daughter Rebekah of Mich.; a sister, Patricia Welch of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. A funeral service will follow at noon with the Rev. William G. Reamer, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church and Chaplain at CVPH Medical Center officiating. Interment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery.
