COPENHAGEN - Marion Eloise Kedmenec, 83, passed away Nov. 24, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's residence in Copenhagen, N.Y., She was born Nov. 9, 1930, the daughter of Frank and Zena Genier.
Marion, a lifelong resident of Witherbee, N.Y., graduated from Mineville High School in 1948 and Troy Cosmetology School. She ran a successful business out of her home as a hairstylist for many years. Marion taught Cosmetology at BOCES in Mineville for several years before relocating to Charlotte, N.C., with her husband and family. While living in North Carolina, she was employed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as a teacher's assistant at Derita Elementary School. After retiring from the State of North Carolina, Marion divided her time between Witherbee and Myrtle Beach, S.C., with her husband, John.
Marion is preceded in death by her husband, John, the love of her life of 60 years; her son, Johnny; parents, Frank and Zena Genier; sisters, Joyce Remillard and Laura Beltt; and brother, Robert Genier.
Marion is survived by her brother, Frank "Jim" Genier; son, Stephen and Vicky Kedmenec of South Amboy, N.J.; daughters, Cheryl Hayes and Robert Morris of Copenhagen, and Susan and Kevin Johnson of Cary, N.C.; several grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan Johnson of Cary, Crystal Morris of Copenhagen, Cristopher Kedmenec of San Mateo, Calif., Victoria Kedmenec of New Jersey, John Morris of Denver, Colo., and Marie Morris of Omaha, Neb. Marion also leaves behind her furry companion, Buddy.
Family and friends will gather in the summer for services.
