Marc R. Roussy

LEDYARD, CONN. — Mr. Marc R. Roussy, 47, formerly of Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn., surrounded by his family.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 10, 1965, the son of Laurence and Marie (Bouchard) Roussy.

He graduated from Mount Assumption Institute in 1983, where he met and eventually married his high school sweetheart, Denise. He worked as a contractor and gifted artisan for years doing beautiful work for many throughout the Plattsburgh region before moving to Ledyard, where he worked for Yankee Remodelers of New London.

Marc lived each day to the fullest. He loved to work and he loved to play, but he especially loved to spend time with family and friends. Marc enjoyed traveling with Denise to island destinations and entertaining friends and family at their beautiful home. Usually the first to arrive to lend a helping hand, Marc will be most remembered for his boundless generosity and his willingness to assist anyone in need. He touched many lives with his kind heart, mischievous spirit and skilled hands.

In addition to the loving hands of his family, Marc received wonderful homecare from Hospice of Southeastern Conneticuut. The nursing staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital provided tender loving care for Marc and his family, during his final journey.

Marc is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years, Denise (Cogan) Roussy, their beautiful daughters, Morgan and Dominique; parents, Laurence and Marie (Bouchard) Roussy; sisters Lyne Freestone, Natalie Foster and Sandra Matroni (twin); brother David; and a large extended family.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, at St. John's Parish in Plattsburgh.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital with a notation for "Daniel Boffa's Research" Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (518) 561-3980.
