CROWN POINT — Chester (Chuck) Langlais, 77, of Main Street, Crown Point, N.Y. died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Elizabethtown Community Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Winooski, Vt. on January 12, 1935, the son of Alfred and Lottie (Meyers) Langlais.
Chuck served in the U.S. Navy and retired from General Electric after a thirty year career. His joys in life included his family and friends, the N.Y. Yankees, N.Y. Giants and his favorite buddy, his cat Sam.
He is predeceased by his parents, and sisters; Pauline LaFreniere and Patricia Boyer.
He is survived by his wife Melissa (Forkas) Langlais, daughter Karyn Langlais and companion Paul Hutti of Plattsburgh; his son, Mark (Amanda) Langlais of Santa Cruz Calif.; and his grandchildren, Brandon and Kendal Langlais, his brother-in-law Joseph (Joan) Forkas and their sons Thomas, Louis and Steven of Ticonderoga, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patricks Church in Port Henry. Burial will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Moriah. Donations in memory of Chuck may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh
