ULSTER PARK, N.Y. — Mary Susan Payette Papa, a resident of Ulster Park, N.Y. and a former resident of Plattsburgh, N.Y., died at the MJHS Hospice Residence in NYC on April 5th at the age of 51 following a courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.
Born on April 24, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Francis Bailey Payette and Ethel Duley Payette.
She grew up in Plattsburgh where she earned a degree in Accounting. Following in the footsteps of her late father, Mary became an electrician and was the former Vice President of Papa Electric the company she founded with Marc Papa her former husband. Mary was a talented artist and avid runner.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Barbara Payette Hiney of New York, N.Y., Jo Ann Soto of Houston, Texas, Sue Ann Payette of Albany, N.Y., Sara Hammond of Greenville, S.C.; and brothers, Frank Payette of N.H. and Christopher Payette of Keeseville, N.Y.; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving daughter, Jenn Schuler from Boston, Mass.
She is predeceased by her sister, Deborah Payette Slater.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 38 Main St. Highland, NY 12528.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
