ESSEX — Bruce H. Klink, age 85, of 2041 Lake Shore Road, Essex, died Jan. 26, 2014. Born in Buffalo N.Y., he was the son of Henry and Elsie Bender Klink.

A graduate of Ebenezer High School, he attended Champlain College in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and trained with the US Navy Flight Training Program for two years. He graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Buffalo. Bruce worked for the subsidiary railroads of Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 33 years. He served in many civic organizations including Essex County Historical Society, Smith House Health Care, Essex Community United Methodist Church, Town of Essex Planning Board, Essex Community Concerts, and Champlain Area Trails (CATS) and was an active member of the Iroquois Lodge #715 of the Free and Accepted Masons, Kiwanis International and the Essex County Republican Committee.

Predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Margaret Kobel Klink. Bruce is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Walt Ramspacher of Coopersburg, Pa.; his son and daughter-in-law Bruce D. and Cheryl Klink of Weddington, N.C.; his son and daughter-in-law David and Debra Klink of Chesapeake, Va.; seven grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew Ramspacher, Emily and Rachel Klink, Adam, Elyse and Miranda Klink; and numerous extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Essex Community Church. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Bruce's memory may be made to the Essex Community Church, PO Box 125, Essex, NY 12936.
