WILLSBORO — Beverley Jean (Collins) Dickerson, 84, of 15 Senior Lane, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 25, 2013, under the care of High Peaks Hospice. She was born in Willsboro Dec. 19, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Mabel (Shepherd) Collins.

"Bev", along with her loving husband, Mike, were considered by most to be the Willsboro Warriors #1 Sports Fans having attended most of the school's athletic events for nearly 50 years. She was recently honored at a school assembly and received her own Warrior Jersey from School Superintendent, Stephen Broadwell.

Bev managed Phil's Meat Market until 1980 when she retired early to join her husband. She took up the game of Bridge, where she was a fast learner and soon began to play regularly at a competitive level in both Willsboro and Plattsburgh where she often ended up on the winning team.

Known for creating homemade English Muffins, Cr^me Puffs and an assortment of delicious pies, Bev was also an accomplished cook who enjoyed pleasing others with her numerous treats.

Bev was also one of Willsboro's biggest Yankee fans -- and could often be seen carrying a portable radio so that she could keep up on that day's game, regardless of what else she was doing.

Bev was predeceased by her husband, Milton ("Mike"); a brother, Harold Collins of AuSable Chasm; and her sister, Shirley Collins Evarts of New Haven, Vt.

She is survived by her devoted children; Bill and Maura Dickerson of Fullerton, Calif.; Wendy Dickerson of San Diego, Calif.; Debi and Jerry Sherman of Westport and Lori and Joe Walsh of Willsboro; her loving grandchildren, Mirabai Coburn of Sacramento, Calif.; Willow Jay and Jason Sanders of Windsor, Calif.; Randy and Eryn Sherman of Baltimore, MD; Nanette and Pat Polvinale of Perry Hall Md; Brian and Dawn Dickerson of San Diego, Calif.; Michael and Candace Dickerson of Lakewood, Calif.; Victoria Walsh of Darien, Conn.; Alexandra Walsh of Willsboro, N.Y.; PFC Joseph Walsh II of Willsboro who is currently serving in Afghanistan, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Collins; her sisters-in-law, Audrey Dickerson, Joyce Dickerson, Rena Dickerson and Edrie Dickerson, along with many treasured nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Huestis Funeral Home, Maple St., Willsboro.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the United Church of Christ, Main St., Willsboro. Interment will follow shortly thereafter in the Reber Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Bev's memory to the Willsboro Central School Athletic Department.
