PLATTSBURGH — A Port Kent man was charged with drunken driving Saturday.

On North Street in the Town of Chesterfield at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, State Police pulled over a vehicle driven by George R. Mudd, 21, according to a State Police blotter entry.

Troopers found Mudd to be intoxicated and he was arrested 15 minutes later, according to the blotter entry.

Mudd was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; a first offense of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08, a misdemeanor; driving without a license, a traffic infraction; illegal signaling, an infraction; and possessing a controlled substance not in its original container, a violation.

Mudd was released to a third party and will appear in court at a later date.

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested Friday after he allegedly violated the terms of his probation.

Matthew D. Martino, 23, was convicted of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, on April 3 and was placed on probation, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.

A felony violation of probation warrant for his arrest was issued out of Clinton County Court, the release said.

Martino was sent to Clinton County Correctional Facility without bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Clinton County Court on Sept. 3.

PLATTSBURGH — A Schuyler Falls man was arrested on a bench warrant Monday.

Dominic J. Rainey, 23, is wanted in Greenville County Court in South Carolina for allegedly failing to appear in court to answer to a previous felony forgery arrest, according to a news release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.

Rainey was arraigned on a fugitive from justice bench warrant in Plattsburgh Town Court and is in Clinton County Correctional Facility awaiting an extradition proceeding to return him to Greenville County, the release said.

Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by members of the local U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force in Rainey’s arrest.
