Mallory Anne Favreau, daughter of Bill and Connie Favreau of Plattsburgh, has been named to the Dean’s List at LeMoyne College, Syracuse, where she majors in physics and education. She graduated from Seton Catholic High School, where she was valedictorian. At LeMoyne, she is a photographer for the newspaper and a member of the Physics Club. She will graduate in 2016.

Amelia I. Jenks, daughter of Steven and Valerie Jenks and a student at Saranac Central School, recently completed the Youth Leadership Conference at Norwich University, Northfield, Vt. The program covers numerous topics including leadership, effective communication, the Constitution, Bill of Rights, free enterprise, cyber security and ethics. To attend, a participant must have a 2.5 GPA or above and write a 500-word essay titled “The Bill of Rights and My Responsibilities.”

Kaylah Jean Baker of Lyon Mountain, daughter of Craig and Joyce Baker of Chazy, has been named to the Dean’s List at Ashford University, Clinton, Iowa. She is a 2006 graduate of Chazy Central Rural School. Her major is applied behavioral science and her GPA is 3.9. 

Elliott Lacki, son of Dr. Richard Lacki and Cynthia Lacki of Plattsburgh, has graduated from the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C., with a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology. He is a 2006 graduate of Plattsburgh High School and a 2009 graduate of American University. He is currently a full-time doctoral student and is working as a clinical psychology intern at the Washington Medical Group. Following completion of his doctorate degree, he expects to pursue post-doctoral training in health/neuropsychology.

SUNY Potsdam has named the following local students to the Dean’s List for the fall semester: Sarah Banker of Schuyler Falls; Megan Breton of Peru; Mackenzie Cotter of Bloomingdale; Catherine Dietsche of Rouses Point; Kelly Favaro of Chateaugay; Trudy Gordon of Brushton; Stephanie Grytebust of Cadyville; Zachary Hamilton of Keeseville; Annie Jacobs of Akwesasne; Dan Kelley of Lake Placid; Sarah Meacham of St. Regis Falls; Garth Olsen of Saranac Lake; Dina Panetta of Chazy; Austin Petrashune of Saranac; Katrina Rigsbee of Morrisonville; Chenice Russell of Moira; Jon Schwencke of Plattsburgh; Brenna Snyder of Bloomingdale; Allison Soulier of Chateaugay; Elyse Sturgen of Moira; Courtney  Tripp of Plattsburgh; Khalshia White of St. Regis Falls and Rachel Woods of Moriah.

Local residents who have been named to the Dean’s List  for the fall semester include: Kimberly K. Hughes, daughter of Susan Forney Hughes of Elizabethtown and Charles Hughes of Lewis, Hamilton College, English major; Benjamin A. Alberry of Morrisonville, Coastal Carolina University, Conway, S.C., special-education major; Jacquelyn M. Dubee of Saranac Lake, Coastal Carolina University, Conway, S.C., exercise and sport science; Branden LaMere, son of Tracey and Louise LaMere of Mooers Forks, University of Albany; Halle T. Kent of Lake Placid, St. Anselm College, Manchester, N.H.; Rachelle Cline of Moriah, business administration, Alfred State; Rochelle LaForest of Peru, Alfred State; Cassidy Smith of Saranac Lake, Alfred State; and Jonathan Keith of Vermontville, Alfred State.

Two area students have been named to the President’s List at SUNY Cortland for the fall semester: Brendan Cortright of Plattsburgh and Dalton Castine of Champlain.

Several area students have been named to the President’s List at SUNY Oswego for the fall semester: Ryan Farmer of Lake Clear; Molly Martindale of Plattsburgh; Bailey Waterbury of Plattsburgh; Eleanor Hunt of Saranac Lake and Cassidy Carroll of Westport.

Hannah Charland of Saranac has been named to the President’s List at SUNY Oswego. The daughter of Dianne Charland of Saranac and Barton Charland of West Chazy, she maintained a 4.0 GPA to earn this distinction. A 2009 graduate of Saranac High School, she is studying biological sciences with a minor in chemistry.
