Schuyler Falls sets hearing on 2014 budget Thursday

MORRISONVILLE — The Town of Schuyler Falls preliminary budget for 2014 is available for viewing at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Town Hall, 997 Mason St., Morrisonville, during regular business hours.

The Town Council will hold a public hearing on the spending plan at 4:45 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7.

With a 3 percent increase over 2013, the proposed salaries of the following town officers are: supervisor, $16,495; councilors, four at $6,018.50 each for a total $24,074; town justice, two at 11,749 each for a total $23,498; town clerk/tax collector, $25,721; and highway superintendent, $62,016.

A special meeting will follow the hearing to adopt the 2014 budget and to hear anything else that might come before the Town Council.

Both sessions are open to the public.


PSU Council to meet Monday

PLATTSBURGH — The SUNY Plattsburgh College Council will hold its next meeting at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, in the Alumni Conference Room in Angell College Center.

The meeting will feature a presentation on the Global Education Office by Cody McCabe, associate director for international enrollment services.

It will also include reports on academic and business affairs; community and government relations; facilities and capital planning and institutional advancement.

The meeting is open to the public.


Peru Town Council meeting date changed to Monday

PERU — The Peru Town Council will meet Monday, Nov. 4, instead of Thursday, Nov. 7.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Peru Town Hall and is open to all.


Air Force squadron-patch pictures sought for mosaic

PLATTSBURGH — Chazy High School students who are creating a mosaic for Plattsburgh International Airport need some help.

They need photos of all the Plattsburgh Air Force Base squadron patches from the year 1955 to 1995 to be sure they are all represented on the 20-by-8-foot mosaic.

People who have squadron patches are asked to call Bucky Seiden at 569-9991 or email images of the patches to pafbmosaic@gmail.com.

People can also bring the patches to the Clinton County Government Center lobby from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8 and to the Chazy Central Rural School lobby from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 12, where they can be photographed.


NCCS Board to review independent audit

CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Agenda items include personnel appointments, review of the independent audit and a first reading of policies.

The public may attend.


Lake Placid Central School Board to meet Tuesday

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Board of Education Conference Room, Administrative Services Center, 50 Cummings Road, Lake Placid. 

Agenda items include special education, teaching staff retirement and presentations on the Costa Rica trip and Beautification Committee.

Meetings are open to the public.


SLCS Board meeting set for Wednesday

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Patrova library.

It is expected an executive session will be called at 6 p.m., with a return to public session from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Agenda items include reports from the superintendent and board members, student placements and personnel.

The meeting is open to the public.


Deadline set for Black Brook water, sewer bills

AuSABLE FORKS — Town of Black Brook water and sewer bills are due by Nov. 4.

If not paid by that time, charges will be re-levied on the land tax bill for 2014.
