BCS Board to set goals at Tuesday session

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Central School Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the Middle/High School library. 

Agenda items include appointments and district and board goal setting.

The session is open to the public.


Draft Lake Placid-North Elba plan revealed

LAKE PLACID — The first public draft of the proposed Lake Placid-North Elba Comprehensive Plan is now available for public review.

It is posted on the web at adkroost.com under the “Resources” section and also linked to the Town of North Elba and Village of Lake Placid websites.

The draft will be formally presented to the public at an informational meeting in the North Elba Room of the Lake Placid Conference Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Community members are being encouraged to review the draft before attending the meeting. The final steps will be to present the plan to the Town Council and Village Board for a public hearing and eventual adoption.

The Comprehensive Plan is the product of two years of work involving more than 70 individuals.

The process was orchestrated by the Lake Placid-North Elba Community Development Board with the help of Elan Planning of Saratoga Springs and the New York State Department of State, with funds provided under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund.

Chateaugay School Board meeting planned

CHATEAUGAY — The Chateaugay Central School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the school.

The board will hear a capital project update and discuss policy related to online banking, security badges and student use of personal technology.

An executive session is expected to be held to discuss the superintendent search.

Board meetings are open to the public.

Rouses Point Planning Board session canceled

ROUSES POINT — The Rouses Point Planning Board meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 26, has been canceled. 

The next session is set for Monday, Sept. 23.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>LAKE PLACID — Lake Placid Central School District will host three community forums to introduce the new administrative team: High School Principal Dana Wood, Middle School Principal Theresa Lindsay and Elementary School Principal Brian Latella.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>They will be available to answer questions about the upcoming school year.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>The meetings are set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the Wilmington Community Center, Springfield Road, Wilmington; 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, in the community room at the Lake Placid Elementary School, 318 Old Military Road; and 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in the foyer of the Lake Placid Middle and High School, 34 School Street.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>MORIAH — The Moriah Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m.Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the High School library. 

<\z14f”sans-serif”>The board will enter immediately into executive session to conduct interviews.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>AuSable Dems to hold caucus Tuesday

<\z14f”sans-serif”>AUSABLE — The Town of AuSable Democrat Party caucus will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Town Hall, 111 AuSable Street, Keeseville. 

<\z14f”sans-serif”>Offices to be voted on are two four-year Town Council seats.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>No Beekmantown Town Court session Aug. 28

<\z14f”sans-serif”>BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown Town Court will not be in session on Aug. 28.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>Those who have appearances set for that night are to appear at the same time on Sept. 11.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>Clinton County Legislature to meet Wednesday

<\z14f”sans-serif”>PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Legislature will meet for a regular session at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, in the Legislative Chambers on the second floor of the Clinton County Government Center, 137 Margaret St.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>Among the resolutions to be acted upon are: adoption of the Clinton Community College budget; authorizing the purchasing agent to solicit bids for materials and services for 2014; and approval of a reappointment to the Clinton County Board of Health.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>The meeting is open to the public.

<\z14f”sans-serif”>Champlain Town cancels Planning Board session

<\z14f”sans-serif”>CHAMPLAIN — The Town of Champlain Planning Board meeting scheduled for Sept. 5 has been canceled.
